Meet Our Chaplains
Our chaplains are here to listen, serve, and care for people no matter their spiritual perspective
Bruce Thomas: Bruce has served in ministry for 17 years in various capacities such as Sunday School, Prison, Youth, Community Outreach, and now the Assistant Pastor of the Pentecostals of Gig Harbor. God has blessed them with 4 wonderful children who fill their lives with joy. Bruce is here to walk with you in this journey of life. A friend to pray with you and for you. An aid to seek out the answers to some of life’s most complicated questions.
Chris Kelly: Chris is an ordained local pastor with over 35 years of ministry experience. Whether it be a financial, health, or marriage crisis, Chris is passionate about coming alongside people in need and showing them God's abundant promises for their life.
Dale Phipps: "I have served the Church for over 35 years, in all sorts of ways and feel privileged to get to share what I’ve discovered about navigating life, being a parent, and loving your spouse. If you need someone to help you search for answers to the tough questions life creates, are looking for tools to help you through your current season of life, or just want someone to pray with you I’d love for you to consider me a resource."
James Floyd: James is the Lead Pastor of Intrepid Christian Church in Gig Harbor. He has been serving as a volunteer chaplain since February 2015, because the YMCA provides great opportunities to live out Jesus' command to "love your neighbor." He is here to listen, pray with or for you, and help to find answers to spiritual questions.
Mark Willson: "Hello Friends & Neighbors! I’m here to come alongside you wherever you are at in your journey with Jesus! If you have questions, doubts, fears, struggles, or need for some encouragement or prayer let me know. We are in this together!"
Paul Criss: "My wife, Tilly, and I have been residents of Gig Harbor since 1987. We served as church planters in Europe from 2008-2016 and I recently retired as the Associate Pastor for missions and adult education in Ocean Shores, working to bring the Western coastal cities of Washington together around common beliefs and meeting local community needs. Currently, Tilly serves as a trainer at Care Net of Puget Sound, and myself as a Chaplain there and at our YMCA. I became a volunteer Chaplain because the YMCA has a clear passion to reach deep into and serve the needs of our Gig Harbor community while being guided by strong Christian principles. We love the outdoors, hiking, working out at the Y, and hospitality. We have two sons, two daughters, and three grandchildren (so far)."
Tammy Carter: With a background as a Hospice Chaplain, Tammy’s desire is to come beside people in their darkest times with a belief that with God there is Love and Light waiting to fill every soul and sustain us. Every opportunity to get to know others is a joy to her and a privilege.
Todd McKellips: Todd has experience as a pastor and public safety chaplain. God has put on his heart a passion to promote strong marriages, creative lifestyle choices, healthy communication and spiritual well being.
