An attitude of gratitude is powerful and can transform relationships. Do you thank your children for what they are doing right? Do they say please when learning to ask for help? This week's point of leadership goes beyond manners - it's about building people of character!

#TBT to our festive staff prepping for fall with a field trip to the pumpkin patch.

Have a great idea to share in front of the classroom? Do you want to tell someone something that could help them? Whatever the conversation, sometimes speaking up can be difficult. This week's point of leadership challenge is to speak so you can be heard - where can you be a leader today?

Can you still whistle the tune to Sesame Street or have a stuffed animal Elmo lurking in storage? Join the Throw Back Thursday club of Sesame Street lovers and print off this color page for your child to enjoy! Disclaimer- whistling catchy theme songs may linger for a few days. #TBT

Words to live by thanks to Kid President -

Monday leadership challenge: Change of plans, a new routine, a detour to your daily schedule - all opportunities to be flexible in life. How can you be more flexible this week to spend time with your child in the evening hours?

Meet Kadence, the future of Miss Daffodil Princess, superstar-in-training, and diva of the year! We've got some pretty big dreamers in our before and after school programs. Your question for the car ride home today is: What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?

YMCA Child Care has an incredible staff dedicated to a life of service who infuse the before and after school programs with their unique interests and talents. Our staff highlight of the month is Brittany Thompson, director at Geiger Elementary. Brittany served in South Africa on an animal refuge and rehabilitation center as a volunteer. Her love for animals can be seen at her site and in her curriculum - from learning about species to cultivating a love for preservation, participants at Geiger will continually be enriched by Brittany and her passion for animals. Way to go Brittany!
