Exercise is beneficial for any age or fitness level however "one size does not fit all". The key is to incorporate what motivates and challenges you while at the same time retaining an element of fun. With this in mind, I take your current needs and abilities and create a comprehensive program around them. After receiving my degree in Sports Medicine and Physical Education, I became certified as an athletic trainer and have worked in the physical therapy/sports medicine field for 17 years. In 1997, I added certified strength and conditioning specialist to my credentials. Although there are many duties and skills performed in this profession, exercise instruction has been the most important component of my career. Rehabilitation, basic daily activities, competitive sports and recreation are all guided and improved by exercise. Good overall health and fitness makes every facet of life more enjoyable. Growing up my athletic focus was dancing and swimming in which I competed from age 5 through college. During my collegiate years, I was also in a head-on car accident and had to overcome my own injuries. This has made me see how crucial exercise can be from both ends of the spectrum. Knowing that we all move and function differently and have our own unique history of aches and pains is key to individualizing workouts, as well as teaching proper techniques. Making time for some form of exercise every day can be one of the best decisions anyone can make. If you are just starting an exercise program, continuing a program after major orthopedic surgery, or an experienced exerciser wanting to try something new, I am here to help.

Between a love of fitness and several years of military service, staying in shape has always been important to me. Over the past couple of years I’ve really embraced several training techniques that focus on flexibility and core strength. But I also know the value of a good cardio workout coupled with weights. I’ve come to learn that bigger is not always better. I used to bench 415. While I can still put up some serious weight, I’ve traded some bulk for balance and a greater overall strength. I’m currently taking weekly gymnastics classes (I can do a back flip) and I’m a member of the Parkour community. If you’re not familiar with the term, think Jackie Chan climbing walls and navigating his way through urban obstacles. Not to forget nutrition, my wife is a health nut and we live a fairly natural and organic lifestyle. I think the key to a good workout is finding what works for you. If you’re unsure… we can try several techniques until we find what works. If you already have a plan, I’ll make it better and push you as much or as little as you’d like.
