About Friends & Servants

Mission
YMCA Friends & Servants empowers troubled youth to become successful, contributing members of society. Friends & Servants works closely with local organizations and agencies to provide a comprehensive solution for teens, with a broad range of programs, services and activities to offer support, guidance, opportunity, and encouragement to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our youth.

Program Goals

• Build meaningful and trusting relationships
• Model and share the love of Christ
• Assist in the fulfillment of court required community service
• Provide work training and job opportunities
• Explore education options
• Provide connections to community resources

Work Experience Projects
Work Experience Projects provide youth with an avenue to fulfill court requirements while giving them a positive work experience. Projects include:

• Lawn Care and Landscaping Services
• Greenhouse Operation
• Apple Orchard Maintenance (Puyallup only)
• Berry and Vegetable Farm (Puyallup only)
• Community Service Projects

Friends & Servants recently expanded to the Morgan Family YMCA and opened two greenhouses next to Remann Hall in Tacoma for youth to work off community service hours.

Youth Investment Center
The Puyallup Youth Investment Center serves as the focal point for addressing the physical, social, emotional, and educational needs of at risk youth in our community.
