YMCA continues care for Tacoma families

With school not in session due to a teacher’s strike, the Y is providing care for children ages 5 to 12 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily until school begins. Care takes place at the Morgan Family YMCA, 1002 S Pearl St, Tacoma.
It's a Play Date: YMCA's Healthy Kids Day Aims to Get Families Moving Through Play
On Saturday, April 9, the YMCA is encouraging all kids and parents throughout Pierce County to play with the Y and commit to being active every day. The free event will take place at Tollefson Plaza at 17th Street and Pacific Avenue in downtown Tacoma from 9am-2pm and feature activities such as children's games, YMCA program demonstrations, summer camp sign up, food and more.
Stepfather recognized as YMCA’s 2010 Most Valuable Dad
Tacoma area resident Charles Jeramiah was recognized as YMCA’s 2010 Most Valuable Dad through a YMCA and Tacoma Rainiers Father’s Day contest.
Foursquare and YMCA host family fun run on Fourth of July
The Mel Korum Family YMCA and Puyallup Foursquare Church have teamed up once again to offer a 5k and 10k run/walk in downtown Puyallup on Fourth of July. The 10k is a new addition this year, building on the success of more than 700 participants during last year's 5k run/walk.
Joanne Haselwood recognized for $2.5 million contribution to YMCA
The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties awarded its 2009 Red Triangle Philanthropist of the Year Award to Joanne Haselwood at its annual Celebration of Philanthropy on Thursday, May 6, at the Tacoma Art Museum.

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties and the Kitsap Family YMCA are thrilled to announce a merger effective July 1, 2010 to best serve the residents of Kitsap County. An agreement was signed February 10.
