all together for good

As a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y was created in response to social challenges and remains committed to meeting the needs of our communities.

We understand the challenges that keep individuals from reaching their full potential, and respond with services and support that helps people be self-reliant, productive, and connected to the community.

Community Health

We are committed to providing all individuals in our community the access and support they need to lead healthy lives. The Y relies on many community collaborations to ensure that we can connect everyone to the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive, and we offer financial assistance to ensure that everyone has access to these vital programs and services. We are also proud to provide military families and personnel extra support through our Military Outreach Initiative.

YOUTH & CHILD WELFARE

We know that guidance and support can make a real difference in the lives of youth. YMCA Friends and Servants provides troubled youth and juvenile offenders an opportunity to fulfill their court appointed community service hours, and the support to explore their talents and interests, discover positive behaviors and values, and realize their potential. Our Late Nite program gives urban youth and young adults a safe environment and challenging programming each weekend night – plus the adult role models who can make a positive impact on their lives and help them become a positive force in the community. Plus, participants can apply for the annual Late Nite Scholarship.

outdoor environmental education

Fourth through sixth grade students get a once-in-a-lifetime overnight camping experience at YMCA Camp Seymour as they explore ecosystems, understand natural resources, and improve outdoor and group building skills in this idyllic setting.

Improving Quality of Life

At the Y, we believe healthy living has as much to do with pursuing interests and learning new things as it does with eating healthy and being active. Just as our bodies need nourishment, our minds and spirits need stimulus and enrichment. Our group interest programs aim to do just that through small group activities and spiritual development programs.
