Martial Arts
Classes focus on practical self-defense, coordination, improving self-confidence and installing self-discipline and values. Belt testing will be given to those who would like to continue in Martial Arts to improve their level of training. All classes are included in your YMCA membership. ChunJiDo
ChunJiDo is a unique collaboration of three arts: Kempo, Jujitsu and Taekwondo. The philosophy of ChunJiDo incorporates the most useful techniques of each of these traditional arts to comprise a system that instills the honor and and integrity of traditional arts, with the condifence of reality defense in its practitioners. Recognized across the United States and in Eruope, ChunJiDo is a growing art that provides opportunity for children and adults ages 4 and older.
Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays with belt testing on Saturdays. Sensai Eric Minar is a highly qualified 2nd degree black belt and has competed in numerous tournaments winning trophies, including Grand Champion, in forms, breaking, and sparring.
Grappling
Grappling utilizes skills from martial arts such as jiu-jitsu, judo and wrestling. All instructors are USAW Bronze Certified and above.
Judo
A Japanese martial art and Olympic sport that emphasizes throwing and grappling techniques. Ideal for anyone from the serious competitor to families. Students learn to overcome stronger opponents through the efficient use of balance, leverage, and movement. We welcome people of all ages and fitness levels. Ben Goucher, head instructor and our other senseis are highly qualified black belts.

Tae Kwon Do
Children engage in a Korean art using total body (hands and feet) as a means for self-defense. Uniform required.Tae Kwon Do
