Registration for our First Tee Golf Clinic is now open. The clinic runs November 3-6 from 5-6pm. Youth ages 6-16 build character, learn life-enhancing values, and gain an understanding of how to make healthy choices through the game of golf. There is no cost to participate. Sign up now!
The Candy Corn Carnival is tomorrow in the Main Gym from 4-6pm. Members and community members of all ages are welcome to join us for games, prizes, a costume contest, face painting and more! There is no cost to attend and the first 50 kids get a free T-shirt!

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Every year in the United States, approximately one million pregnancies end in miscarriage, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the leading cause of death among children from one month to one year of age.
Please take a moment in your day to remember the children and families affected by miscarriage, stillbirth, and SIDS in our community. You can also stop by the Welcome Center for free resources on how to protect babies from SIDS.
Honesty is our value of the month. Of course, everyone wants their children to be honest. So, how can you help make that happen? The first step is setting a good example. Yes, this means not getting the kids meal even though your kids can pass for 10 and under. It means telling the truth—and making a point of letting them know you're choosing to be honest. Before this spring, 10 year-old Jimmy was terrified of the water. When he came to the pool at the Lakewood Family YMCA with spring day camp, he insisted on wearing a life jacket and wouldn’t get in.
“Prior to spring break, his idea of a swim was get to the edge of the water, splash, and run away,” says Dave, Jimmy’s father. Over the course of day camp, he gradually became more and more comfortable in the water and more trusting of the instructors.
Now, he is enrolled in swim lessons at the Y and loves to get in the water and blow bubbles. Dave has also seen tremendous progress in Jimmy’s behavior and social skills thanks to his time at the Y.
Registration is now open for youth winter volleyball. Girls in grades 6-8 learn how to serve, set, pass, hit, block and work as part of a team. The season lasts from November 17-December 20. Sign up today at ymcapkc.org!
