Active Older Adults Class Schedule
Adaptive Yoga
Adaptive Yoga uses the principles of yoga to create movements for those with limited mobility-due to injury or illness- which increases strength and flexibility, while also contributing to a calm mind and spirit. This class is appropriate for all levels of physical ability.
ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS: Fit For Fun
This class emphasizes on light cardio fitness, balance as well as flexibility, strength and fall prevention.
Basic STEP
This class will introduce you to the STEP. Learn the terminology and how to move around on the STEP. Recommended for anyone who has the desire, but not sure how to get started.
Chair Class
This class will keep you moving while exercising from a seated position. Muscle strength, flexibility, and balance are all incorporated in this class.
Gentle YOGA
New to YOGA? Focus is on Relaxation, Stretching, Form, and Breathing techniques. Will provide you with a strong YOGA foundation.
Healthy Back
The purpose of the Healthy Back class is to help those with back pain find relief and adopt behaviors that will prevent future problems. The class is open to anyone who wishes to learn how to protect the back and keep it healthy.
Pilates 101
Learn the basics of Pilates. Gentle rhythmic movements focusing on breath and core stabilization. For all levels!
Totally Torso
Strengthen back and core through mat exercises focusing on posture, stability and core strength.
Zumba®
Latin dance based cardio workout. You’ll have so much fun with this Latin and international dance based workout – it won’t even seem like exercise!
SilverSneakers® (MSROM-Muscular Strength and Range of Motion)
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
SilverSneakers® CardioCircuit
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
MEDICAL REFERRAL CLASSSES
A physician’s referral is required for attendance in these classes.
Healthy Heart
A wellness program that is designed to improve cardiovascular endurance and your fitness level.
Stroke Fitness Class
This is designed for those individuals who have experience a stroke. Emphasis will be on range of motion, balance and stretching. If an assistant is needed in the locker room, class participant must provide them.
