Announcement:
The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties has an immediate need to add to our team of quality Aquatic Staff at the Mel Korum Family YMCA. Part time positions with opening and mid-day hours are currently available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain good public relations with members, always representing the best interests of the YMCA.
- Know and enforce rules to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
- Understand the YMCA's mission, goals, objectives, and programs to better relay this information to members and build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
- Perform responsibilities of lifeguard or swim instructor as assigned by Aquatic Directors and LEAD Aquatic Staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 16 years of age.
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and Lifeguard Certifications.
- The ability to pass the lifeguard test (physical and oral) at all times.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to respond to critical incidents and to act swiftly in emergency situations.
