Youth Sports Leagues

Youth Sports Leagues offer fun and non-competitive opportunities for children and their families to enjoy together. Our goal is for every child to learn and to develop skills in the sport of the season while maintaining a focus of teamwork, practicing YMCA core values and building friendships with their team mates. Each child will be placed on a team according to age and ability. Participants will have the opportunity to practice and play games with their team throughout the league season.

Capture the Flag - Fall (6-12 years)
Each child will learn how to play capture the flag while in a fun environment. Participants will be placed on a team according to age and will have the opportunity to practice and play games with their team throughout the season.

Basketball - Winter (Pre K-12th grade)
Each child will learn and develop basketball skills while in a fun environment. Participants will be placed on a team according to age and will have the opportunity to practice and play games with their team throughout the season.

Indoor Soccer - Spring (Pre K-5th Grade, Co-Ed)
Each child will learn and develop soccer skills while in a fun environment. Participants will be placed on a team according to age and will have the opportunity to practice and play games with their team throughout the season.

Gig Harbor Youth Swim Team

The YMCA Gig Harbor youth swim team is about improving yourself and having fun. It is our goal to have your child's swimming experience be a positive one. The Gig Harbor youth swim team are a recreational team. We focus on improving your child's stroke, confidence, and instilling in them the six core values that the YMCA represents.


Seals Swim Team (7-18 years)
This recreational swim league encourages swimming for physical fitness, provides social interaction and healthy competition. The YMCA offers youth the opportunity to learn about swimming as a sport. We encourage sportsmanship as well as competition. Coaches include the YMCA values while working on endurance training and stroke techniques.

Cost: $60 per session
Practices: Monday and Wednesday 5:45-6:45pm or 7-8pm
Friday 6-7:30pm

           

Porpoise Swim Club (7-18 years)
Develops swimming skills and encourages goal setting through positive reinforcement. This is a good starting point before swim team.
