Exercise is beneficial for any age or fitness level however "one size does not fit all". The key is to incorporate what motivates and challenges you while at the same time retaining an element of fun. With this in mind, I take your current needs and abilities and create a comprehensive program around them. Working with populations ranging from seniors to power lifters, I provide guidance, education and motivation to help individuals reach their health and fitness goals.

After receiving my degree in Sports Medicine and Physical Education, I became certified as an athletic trainer and have worked in the physical therapy/sports medicine field for 17 years. In 1997, I added certified strength and conditioning specialist to my credentials. Although there are many duties and skills performed in this profession, exercise instruction has been the most important component of my career. Rehabilitation, basic daily activities, competitive sports and recreation are all guided and improved by exercise. Good overall health and fitness makes every facet of life more enjoyable. Growing up my athletic focus was dancing and swimming in which I competed from age 5 through college. During my collegiate years, I was also in a head-on car accident and had to overcome my own injuries. This has made me see how crucial exercise can be from both ends of the spectrum. Knowing that we all move and function differently and have our own unique history of aches and pains is key to individualizing workouts, as well as teaching proper techniques. Making time for some form of exercise every day can be one of the best decisions anyone can make. If you are just starting an exercise program, continuing a program after major orthopedic surgery, or an experienced exerciser wanting to try something new, I am here to help.

I have been personal training for 15 years and I enjoy it more and more as time goes on. I have a very dynamic, creative and unique style of training that benefits clients at any level. I possess a strong background and invaluable experience in training athletes, fitness competitors, rehabilitation and weight loss clientele. I take my client’s goals seriously, your success is my success and your failure is my failure. We will not fail together because I will not let us. One of my clients said in a testimonial "Phil will make your goals a reality. And as you reach them, you'll be laughing with a smile." I stress education and fun because let's face it, working out is not easy and it's hardly fun. I like to keep things positive with high energy and the workouts inventive and challenging so we are constantly moving forward and never getting bored. I never met a plateau I couldn't conquer!
