Aquatics

All water fitness classes are included in your YMCA membership and available on a drop in basis. See Pool Schedule for class times. For more information on classes, contact Linda Cota, Aquatics Director at 253-534-7859.

Deep Water Aerobics

Exercises take place in the main pool where a flotation belt is worn to create resistance for a low impact cardio and muscle toning workout.

Aqua Kickboxing

Shallow water aerobics class using kickboxing movements for cardiovascular and muscle toning.

Modified Water Aerobics

This class incorporates range of motion, mild strength building exercises, stretching, swimming and camaraderie. Great for those with limited mobility or recovering from surgery.

Shallow Water Aerobics

Exercises take place in our zero-entry instructional pool where feet remain on the bottom of the pool at all times. Great for those with limited mobility.

SilverSplash®

Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety. SilverSplash® offers lots of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard is used to develop strength, balance and coordination.

Water Walking

This class is a self-paced class with no instructor. Pool space is provided in the instructional pool for walking.

Fitness Classes

Active Older Adult Weight Circuit Class

Increase your muscle strength and improve bone density by working with weights, resistance training and Precor weight machines. For more information, contact Bonnie Zeitner, Health and Well- Being Director at 253-534-7872.

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength and Range of Movement (MSROM)

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® YogaStretch

YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Parkinson’s Movement Group

Join this group and learn balance, motor skills and simple large muscle movement geared towards those with Parkinson’s symptoms.

Zumba Gold

Exciting Latin inspired dance rhythms created in the original Zumba class modified for the active older adult, beginner, or anyone needing modifications for a successful class. Includes chair workouts.

Enjoy a cup of coffee and mingle with other SilverSneakers participants.

Active Older Adult Potluck

Bring a healthy dish and a friend to a potluck!
Day/Time: Third Thursday of each month, 11am-Noon

Meet new friends and join other YMCA members. Card games vary each month.
